What: 22nd Annual Turkey Trot, 5K run on Thanksgiving
Where: Lake Eola Park, Downtown Orlando
When: Thanksgiving Day, November 22th, 2012 at 8am
Admission: $27 to $35 depending on when you sign up.
Want to work off those extra pounds before the big Thanksgiving meal? Run down to the 22nd Annual Turkey Trot a.k.a. “Walk & Trot” where you can run even more for about 5 kilometers. The 5k takes place on Thanksgiving day at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando. The cost ranges from $27 to $35. Harry P. Leu Gardens
Harry P. Leu Gardens is a fifty acre site filled with pathways that weave in and out of separate gardens all of which overlook a large lake. Located just North of Center Downtown Orlando and just West of Baldwin Park, Leu Gardens provides an oasis in the center of the city. Winter Park Farmer’s Market
The Winter Park Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the exception of certain events and holidays. At the market one can find all sorts of products including: plants, vegetables, honey, food, baked goods, cheese, meat, and other specialty items for sale. Maitland Farmer’s Market
The Maitland Farmer’s Market on Sunday
The Maitland Farmers Market is that it is located around a small lake called Lake Lily. It’s a great opportunity for families to shop, and have a safe path to walk along. Visitors are often amazed by the ecosystem around the lake and it’s not uncommon to see families of ducks walking in straight line formations right next to you. For those with small children there is also a small public playground right next to the market complete with slides and swings.

For a quiet evening, but fun evening out check out the Enzian Theater and see what’s playing. The Enzian Theater is one of Orlando’s great answers to culture. Located in the city of Maitland, just seconds North of Orlando, the Enzian is a nonprofit art-house theater which specializes in independent films and films that might be extremely popular but with only certain audiences. The movie house has its own bar, called Eden Bar, which allows movie goers and even those just looking to go to the bar enjoy a large private garden with large trees hovering over the park, the bar, and the theater. It’s a very chill but trendy crowd that always make it to Eden Bar.
