Bob Carr Performing Arts Center

The Bob Carr Performing Arts Center in Orlando is one of the main links Orlando locals have to major theatrical productions including Broadway and Off Broadway plays and hosting programs such as Orlando Ballet, Orlando Opera, and the Orlando Philharmonic. Originally developed in 1926, the Bob Carr, as its known to locals was originally names the Municipal Auditorium and was the main venue for city-wide cultural programming. In the 1970′s it received a major upgrade and was named after Mayor Robert Carr, who apparently was known to people as “Bob” hence the reason it is not called the Robert Carr theater.

While the city of Orlando has been looking to do further upgrades for the future and possible build a whole new cultural complex downtown, the Bob Carr still serves the city well, managing to bring Orlando big time performances from all over the country.

Be sure to check online regularly for dates and times of upcoming performances.
