Old Town Kissimmee

Old Town is a theme park attraction in the Kissimmee area, just a few minutes South of Orlando. Old Town is kind of the little cousin of Disney and Universal in the Orlando area. While it is a theme park, it’s actually a whole lot more. Old Town is actually designed as an “old west” style town allowing visitors to walk through the street and check out the shops, rides, restaurants, and bars. In a way, Old Town is the combines the fun of a county fair with the charm of an old American city lined with unique shops and bars to go through. People watching is one of the best activities at Old Town. Probably because you can see everyone having fun on all the thrill rides. Visitors will find that there are a lot nostalgic style rides and lot of activities for both kids and adults. As an attraction, Old Town is not new. It has actually been around for over 20 years, and it has successfully established itself as an attraction for out of town visitors that don’t feel like spending a full day at the major theme parks, but still want to have a great time. It’s also a night and day time getaway for Orlando residents to experience a fun activity for a few hours. As a destination, Old Town has everything for everybody. Best of all, admission is FREE and parking is FREE! Oh you heard us correctly…………we said FREE! Don’t tell Disney or Universal.

The shopping at Old Town is definitely unique. They have over 30 boutique stores including: Chinese Tea Culture, Old Town Leather, Pearl Factory, Ocean Wave Surf Shop, Old Town Pet Palace, along with shops that sell clothing jewelry and electronics.
For those that love rides, Old Town has a ton of them. There are all different types including thrill rides and rides suitable for kids.

Some of the rides include roller coasters, a tilt-a-whirl, bumper cars, go karts, a ferris wheel, a super shot, and a flying dutchman. They also have zipline and a venture ropes course along with a haunted house and laser tag. It’s literally like going to the county fair, except there are way more activities and places to go at Old Town. Part of the fun is watching others experience the rides, because these are the type of rides dropping its riders several stories down through loops and twirls.

On Fridays and Saturdays Old Town hosts classic car auto shows. You’ll be able to see anywhere from 40 to 70 vintage cars every Friday and Saturday. On Fridays there is a car show for older muscle cars and on Saturday the car show is gear more toward the classic older cars. The cars also drive through the town so that everyone can have a look.
