The Scenic Boat Tour of Winter Park

The Scenic Boat Tour of Winter Park provides an hour-long guided tour throughout the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. While on the tour you’ll be able to see what living in Florida once looked like 50, 60, and 70 years ago.  While the houses on the lake are much bigger than they were 50 years ago, the charm and the natural environment around the lakes still remain the same. You’ll take an 18-person pontoon boat where local guides will tell you about the landscape, the history of the lakes and most entertaining of all…….the people who live on the lakes.

The guides are extremely knowledgeable on both local history and local gossip surrounding the local residents Central Florida, along lots of native palms trees, skyscraper-sized cypress trees, tropical plants along with lots of birds, fish, and the occasional alligator………all of which aren’t typically seen in most parts of Central Florida.  It’s also a lot of fun to travel through the tree-covered man-made canals that connect each lake.  The boat tour was established in the late 1930’s, so it definitely has some staying power and who knows, maybe it was one of the tourist attractions that paved the way for Walt Disney World.  Some believe it’s by far the oldest tourist attraction in the Orlando area. The Scenic Boat Tour of Winter Park is located just minutes away from Orlando and can be found a few blocks away (a 4 to 5 minute walk) from Park Avenue, Winter Park.
