Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art is located minutes North of Orlando right off of Park Ave., Winter Park. Because it’s not the shortest name in the world, locals will typically refer to it as either the Morse Museum or the Tiffany Museum, in reference to Louis Comfort Tiffany, a major artist featured at the museum. It’s a great way to see something different in the Orlando area because the museum is full of antique glass, pottery, paintings, and other art pieces.

One of the most striking things about the museum is that it features what might be the largest collection Tiffany art pieces, and Tiffany was famous for glass art including glass gorgeous glass windows.  These windows are extremely are painted with every color in the spectrum and many of them are huge.

They’re the type of windows you would expect to see on a 1,000 year-old cathedral in Europe.  You can also find Tiffany glass lamps and Tiffany glass sculptors and pottery.  The museum even has a chapel that Tiffany designed in 1893.  Plan to spend anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour at the museum.  Being that its located right off Park Avenue, you can combine some shopping, walking, and eating opportunities along with your trip to the Morse.  They also have great air conditioning throughout the museum so it’s a great way to spend time during an intensely hot Florida day.
