Downey Park
Downey Park is a great community park located off of East Colonial in Orlando. There are many who believe that nothing worth while entertainment-wise exists between Semoran and Alafaya when traveling East on Colonial. These are the folks that would be missing out on Downey Park, a very unassuming, yet charming park complete with a good size lake known as Lake Downey (no relationship to the washing detergent), lots of places to walk around, volleyball courts, picnic areas, basketball courts, a skate ramp, and a large splash pad for the kids to play on. There is also a separate dog park area for the dog lovers, for some reason cats never seem to get their own park areas. The entrance is located Its located at the intersection of East Colonial and Dean Rd. in the Union Park area of Orlando.
