Lake Eola Park Orlando

Welcome to Lake Eola Park, the core of the Downtown Orlando area. Located among some of tallest buildings in Orlando, Lake Eola Park is one of the best places to kickback and relax and escape the city streets or at least within that square mile area. The views are terrific and come complete with a large iconic fountain at the center of Lake Eola surrounded by large glistening buildings in the background. It’s the host of some of Orlando’s top festivals, celebrations, gatherings, 5k’s, and even protests. In fact, Lake Eola is one of the things that make Downtown Orlando such a great place to be.

One of the top activities to do at Lake Eola is to walk or run around the Lake itself. There is an inward and and outward path that you can take. For those that enjoy running or walking the outward path is around 1.2 miles and the inward path that directly surrounds the lake is around .9 miles. It’s an enjoyable path where you’ll likely see people with their kids, walking their dogs, people jogging, and you may even see people you know.

You can also check out the swans swimming in the lake and also rent a swan paddle boat for a half hour and paddle around the lake. The amphitheater at Lake Eola hosts a lot of live performances from both professional and local talent along with different community events. There are also plenty of park benches to take a seat at where you can check out the scene. Toward the intersection of Robinson Avenue and Eola Drive you’ll find the Japanese pavilion which has some koi ponds and you can also find a playground area for the kids at the corner where Summerlin Avenue meets Eola Drive.

The Lake Eola Fountain remains to be one of the main attractions at the Park, with its unique retro look, it shoots water 9 stories in the air and all of the panels even light up at night to create night photos that could come from Orlando. Every night there is a Fountain Jazz show where the fountain lights correspond to classic jazz music played on loudspeakers around the lake. Different panels light up according to the music score. You can catch this Fountain Jazz show every night around 8pm and again at 9:30pm will will have a choreographed light and water show at the Lake Eola Fountain.
