Mead Botanical Gardens

Mead Botanical Gardens, known to many locals as Mead Gardens, is a 50-acre garden located in the heart of Winter Park, and is fewer than 2 miles North of the tip of Orlando. The gardens are filled with a few miles of trails where you can see streams, plants, wetlands and animals. While some of the habitats featured are original, much of the garden has been restored by both the city and volunteers and the environment looks as it would have in the 1940’s at its inception.

Mead Gardens is definitely thought of as a place for true Orlando locals. While it has one of the few amphitheaters in the area and lots of indoor and outdoor space for special events, it’s not heavily advertised outside of the community, so few outsiders know about it.
