Best Art Festivals in the Orlando and Central Florida Area

Orlando and the Central Florida area host a lot of art festivals.  We do.  We’re good at it, and no two festivals are the same.  So we put together a guide to help you navigate through all of the area’s major art festivals to help you determine which ones you want to go to.  Some art festivals have tons of art, some are great for walking around, some have lots of shops, and some simply bring you to parts of town where you ordinarily wouldn’t travel to.  Check them out and see which ones you want to attend.

Orlando

Orlando Art Festival Fall Fiesta
What: Orlando’s Fiesta in the Park at Lake Eola

When: Typically occurs in November on an early Saturday from 10am-5pm to Sunday 12noon-5pm

Enjoy the weather with the rest of Orlando at Orlando’s Fiesta In The Park. It will be a great event featuring live entertainment along with lots of food, art, street drawings, and tons of other activities. The fiesta will be located at and around Downtown Orlando’s Lake Eola Park and takes place in early November on a Saturday and Sunday. You’ll also be able to take a stroll around Lake Eola and if you have kids they’ll be able to play in the nearby parks and playgrounds. Orlando Art Festival Spring
The Annual Spring Fiesta in Lake Eola Park Downtown Orlando takes place Lake Eola Park in takes place on a Saturday and Sunday in April 10am to 5pm Saturday and 12pm to 5pm on Sunday at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando. There will be over 200 original artists along with their works present. There will be paintings, crafts, sculptors along with lots of food, music and entertainment. Admission is FREE. Festival of the Masters at Lake Buena Vista at Walt Disney World
Occurs typically in November on a Friday and Saturday from 10am-5:30pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm
Admission: FREE!
They’ve been doing Festival of the Masters Art Festival and it will host over 150 artists. Artworks will include paintings, sculptors, jewelry, photography, and much more. All  the artists are independent artists, but let’s face it, Disney wouldn’t even let them on the property unless they were really good.  This is Walt Disney World’s Art Festival, so come check it out at www.disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/downtown-disney/festival-of-the-masters

 

Winter Park

Winter Park has consistently had one of the largest art festivals in the area
for decades. This is a great place to check out all kinds of Florida artists
displaying sculptors, paintings, photography, jewelry and even artistic
home accessories. The event takes place in Central Park right off of Park Avenue.

Winter Park Art Festival Spring
The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival Spring takes place in March starting on a Friday and ending on Sunday. It will take place right off of Park Avenue and Central Park located in the city of Winter. The Winter Park Art Festival is one of the oldest and highly regarded art festivals in the Orlando area. Over 200 artists will be featured along with live entertainment, activities for kids along with food and fun. The festival will run on Friday and Saturday from 9am-6pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm. Join the city of Maitland for their Annual Maitland Rotary Art Festival in October
at Lake Lily in Maitland. The show begins at 6pm-10pm on Friday along with lots of
food, wine, beer and other entertainment. Visitors will be able to enjoy art under the
stars featuring over 150 artists. Many times there are student exhibitions or different

The Maitland Spring Festival of the Arts, also known informally as the Maitland Art Festival takes place in April and typically starts on a Friday from 6pm-9pm, Saturday from 9am-5pm, and Sunday from 10am-4pm. Admission is FREE! Park where you can do it legally or venture into the paid parking lots that will charge you under $5.

Altamonte Springs

Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs always puts on a great show, typically in February Saturday 10-6pm, Sunday 10-5pm. Expect to see over 130 art & fine crafts and exhibits plus you can walk around awesome Cranes Roost Park, in Altamonte Springs, Florida or walk around the Altamonte Mall. There is typically activities for kids along with food, drinks, and live music.

Art, Craft, ane Wine Festival sponsored by the
Seminole County South Rotary Club
The Annual Rotary Art, Craft and Wine Festival is a newer festival that takes place in Altamonte Springs at the Uptown Altamonte complex at Cranes Roost.  Currently it runs on a weekend in November.   There promises to be art, wine, and plenty of sites to see as you stroll.  Check website for more information: www.aacwf.com

Mount Dora

The Mount Dora Arts Festival takes place in beautiful picturesque downtown Mount Dora. Take a look at the works from over 300 artists and check out performers, local shops, and games. If you’ve never been to Mount Dora, it looks like the small American town they talk about in movies. Regional musical entertainment will take place at the main stage in Donnelly Park. Winter Springs

Winter Springs Festival of the Arts
The Annual Winter Springs Festival of the Arts is newer the Orlando and Central Florida area. Sponsored by the Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Festival takes place at the Winter Springs Town Center around Mid-October. Over 125 participating artists are typically expected. Prepare to see sculptors, paintings, photography, drawings, jewelry, and even performing arts. The festival is completely FREE and open to the public.

Celebration

 

Celebration Art Festival
The Annual Celebration Art Festival takes place on Market Street
in Celebration, FL just South of Orlando. Over 100 artists will converge on Market Street in the heart of Celebration. Celebration is conveniently located off I-4 and Highway 192 near the entrance to Walt Disney World. Visitors will be able to peruse through fine paintings, one of a kind pottery, photography, hand made jewelry, and much more. Admission is FREE! The event typically takes place in April on a Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm.

Winter Garden

Annual Winter Garden Art Festival

The Historic Winter Garden Merchants Association hosts over a hundred unique artists from all over Florida and the Southeast. Works of art will be juried and on display and for sale throughout the weekend, with art ranging from painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramic, glass, fiber arts and fashion, wood, photography, mixed media, and more. There is also musical entertainment both days, a variety of food vendors featuring some of Winter Garden’s best restaurants, and a relaxing beer and wine stroll. Apopka

The Apopka Art and Foliage Festival has been going on for over 5 decades. Currently it is hosted in Kit Land Nelson Park located at: 441 N. Park Avenue, Apopka, FL. The event typically occurs toward the later part of April on both Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm. Expect to see art, plants, and things for the household and garden. Lake Mary

Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts
Where: Oval Park in Heathrow just off the I-4 interchange in Lake Mary (Directions below)
Make sure to see the Lake Mary-Heathrow Arts Festival located at Oval Park in Heathrow in the Lake Mary area. The event occurs in early November on Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. Over 200 artist exhibits will be on display. Established for over 25 years expect plenty of art in addition to a classic car show, live entertainment, children’s art displays, activities and food. Its rated by some as one of the best art festivals in the Southeast. Put some fun in your weekend and join all your friends and family at the Lake Mary Art Festival and Classic Car Show.

Eatonville


Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities
The Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities takes place in various locations including Eatonville, Winter Park, and Orlando. Expect to see events start to occur in late January. The Zora Neale Hurston Festival celebrates the famous local author with Haitian cultural events, seminars, outdoor festivals, and more. Sanford area
Enjoy Art in the historic setting of Downtown Sanford at the St. Johns River Festival of the Arts on May 4th and 5th 2013! There will be something for everyone to enjoy including works from over 100 artists where you will be allow to view their work, watch them create their work, and in some cases participate with selected artists. There will be plenty of art, food and music for everyone. The festival will take place in the Historic Sanford area on Saturday and Sunday the first week in May. ArtsFest is one of the ultimate displays of artistic culture throughout the Orlando area and typically occurs around the month of February. Over 80 cultural organizations spread across Orange, Seminole, and Osceola Counties are participating. It includes both ticketed and non-ticketed events. Events will feature music, dance, drama, and art. Participating organizations include Mad Cow Theatre, Orlando Ballet and Orlando Museum of Art. There are some events that will require you to enter a lottery for a ticket, but below is the entire list from ArtsFest of Non-ticketed events and for all of these events you can simply decide to show up at your leisure.
